The Rotary Clubs of Safety Harbor and Oldsmar/Eastlake have teamed up to pay for and assemble comfort kits for the American Red Cross. Rotarians, S4TL student & Interact students from both clubs are encouraged to get involved. The assembly process is currently planned for Saturday, September 19 at the TECO room in the Oldsmar Public Library.
The adult kit Comfort Kit includes a toothbrush, hairbrush, washcloth, travel size bar of soap, toothpaste, lotion, deodorant, razor, shaving lotion, shampoo, and feminine hygiene product (female kits). The kids also receive a kit that contains a child size toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, bar of soap, washcloth, coloring book, crayons and a small toy. Whether needed because of a personal or family emergency or a much broader public disaster, Comfort Kits are always in demand.
The clubs plan to donate at least 5,000 kits. Following assembly on September 19th, the kits will be transported to the American Red Cross to be held until needed.
For additional information, contact The Rotary Club of Safety Harbor through this website or email Oldsmar/Eastlake President Hiep Tang at firstname.lastname@example.org .
On July 31st The Rotary Club of Safety Harbor surprised Mattie Williams summer kids with several hundred dollars worth of childrens books. The gift featured several copies each of popular titles designed to engage, entertain and educate children in keeping with Rotary’s goal of helping the youth of our local and world wide community.
After years of meeting at the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa each Friday Morning, the club has decided to change locations. The new meeting place will be Another Broken Egg Cafe at 2554 North McMullen Booth Road, Clearwater in Northwood Plaza.
Meetings will still be at 7:30 A.M. on Fridays.
The club move is to lower the cost of breakfast and to increase visibility in the community. It is hoped this will attract younger members who could not otherwise afford to join.
