Safety Harbor Bucket Brigade – Clean Water for the Philippines

The Rotary Club of Safety Harbor is working with Sawyer Products to provide clean drinking water to the people in the Philippines.  Sawyer is providing 10,500 water filters.  Join the Safety Harbor Bucket Brigade by donating a clean 5 gallon bucket today.

Drop off sites include the Safety Harbor Chamber of Commerce, The Mattie Williams Neighborhood Family Center, The Safety Harbor City Hall, and the Christmas Parade on December 21st.

The cost of a 5 gallon bucket is $3.  We also will accept donations to The Rotary Club of Safety Harbor Foundation (a 501.(C)(3) corporation) which will be used to purchase buckets.

The Rotary Club of Safety Harbor is fortunate to have financial planner Mike Chapman speak at its regular meeting this Friday.  Mike will educate us about The Rotary Foundation.  As usual, Rotarians are welcome to make up and join us for this most vital presentation.

Mike and his wife, Jocelyn, met at The University of West Florida in 1977. They have been happily married since 1980.

The Chapman family moved to the Tampa Bay area at the completion of Mike’s service as a Naval Officer. He is a member of Raymond James and Associates and has a wealth management practice that spans both the Tampa Bay area and the entire nation.

Jocelyn is a Business Banker and the 2013-14 President of the Rotary Club of Clearwater. Mike and Jocelyn have two sons, Edward (Ted) and Richard (Rick). Ted is a graduate of Clemson University and currently serves as an officer in the U.S. Navy. Rick is graduate of Auburn University and currently serves as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Mike and Jocelyn are TRF Benefactors and members of both the Bequest Society and the Paul Harris Society – and all four members of the Chapman family are Paul Harris Fellows. Mike served as Club President in 1999-2000 and as Assistant Governor for three years beginning in 2010. He was selected as the 2011-12 District 6950 Assistant Governor of the Year and as the Keith Kurber ACE Award by District 6950 for the 2012-13 Rotary Year. Mike currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the District 6950 TRF committee, and he has been recently selected as Governor Nominee – Designee, slated to serve as District 6950 Governor for Rotary Year 2016-17.

When not involved with Rotary events and projects, Mike and Jocelyn enjoy sailing their 1981 Hunter 33 yacht, Knot Sure.

December 6th – Annual Mayor’s Breakfast

Mayor’s Breakfast

The 2013 Mayors’ Breakfast, hosted by Safety Harbor Mayor Joe Ayoub and Oldsmar Mayor Doug Bevis, will be held on Friday, December 6, at 7:30 am at the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa. The breakfast raises money to help local families in both communities. There are several ways you can help the Mayors make this year’s breakfast a success.

First, you can simply purchase a ticket. Tickets are $25 each and you’ll have a chance to have the Mayors serve you coffee, be entered in a prize drawing, get a nice breakfast, and help out local families and children this Holiday Season.

If you’re a business owner, consider becoming a table sponsor. Table Sponsorships start at $250 and include 8 tickets. The Mayors would also welcome any door prizes that your company would like to donate to the event. The prizes will be given away at the end of the beakfast and your business will be recognized. A tradition at the breakfast has been the auctioning off of small decorated holiday trees. The Mayors welcome trees from both businesses and individuals.

If you would like to make a donation, become a sponsor, purchase a ticket, or get more information about the Mayors’ Breakfast, call 727-791-8255 or email:
