We accept this challenge and will be planting 19 trees at Waterfront Park on May 19th. This will also fulfill Rotary International President Ian Riseley's request to plant a tree for each Rotarian during this Rotary Year!!Safety Harbor's beautiful tree canopy is the envy of most cities. I believe we should always look for ways to add to it, so I'm excited to announce Mayor Joe Ayoub’s Tree Plant Challenge! My goal is to bring our community together by encouraging people and groups to beautify our city and sustain our tree canopy for generations to come by planting trees throughout our city. Later this year, awards will be given out to the individual, neighborhood, non-profit organization and private organization that make the biggest impact on our tree canopy. We'll soon announce details of this and our new Street Tree Program, where we will give trees to homeowners who work with the city on where to place them. Also, don't forget about the city’s Free Tree Program happening in October. I encourage everyone to get involved and share your contribution with me. Please share this with all your friends to help spread the word. Good luck and thanks for making Safety Harbor, Florida the best city, one new tree at a time!
