Congressman Gus Bilirakis, of Palm Harbor, was first elected to Congress in 2006, and is currently serving his fifth term in the United States House of Representatives. Gus serves on the Energy and Commerce Committee, is Vice-Chairman of the Veterans’ Affairs Committee, and leads many important congressional caucuses. Working in a bipartisan manner, his priorities include controlling government spending, creating jobs, lowering taxes, strengthening homeland security, improving education, increasing access to quality health care, protecting Veterans, and ensuring the long-term viability of Social Security and Medicare. The Energy and Commerce Committee is the longest-standing committee in the House. As the only Florida Republican, Gus continues to be a strong voice for Florida. His roles on the Health, Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade, and Communications and Technology Subcommittees are highly beneficial to Florida. Florida has the greatest proportion of residents over 65, making it crucial for Congress to ensure a quality and affordable healthcare system for current and future generations.
Prior to being elected to Congress, Gus served four terms in the Florida House where he chaired several prominent panels. During this time, he also served as Senior Partner at the Bilirakis Law Group in Holiday. Gus graduated from the University of Florida and earned a J.D. from Stetson
University. He also currently teaches government classes at St. Petersburg College. Gus and his wife, Eva, have four sons – Michael, Teddy, Manuel and Nicholas
Robert is the father of two wonderful boys and a rescue dog that is as tough as she is sweet. he was born in North Miami Beach, Florida in 1966. and grew up in Florida and attended elementary and middle school in Florida.
He earned his Associate of Arts degree from Broward Community College and a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Finance from Florida Atlantic University. While there he served as vice-president of the Student Body at the Broward Campuses for two years. He received his Juris Doctorate in 1997 from Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida. During law school he served as the Student Bar president for two years, and was also a member of Moot Court. Robert has lived in the Tampa Bay area since 1998.
Robert is currently a practicing attorney and self-employed. His practice areas include criminal defense in both the State and Federal Courts. Prior to striking out on his own, he was an Assistant Public Defender at the Office of the Public Defender in Hillsborough County, (13th Judicial Circuit) and the Public Defender’s Office in Pinellas and Pasco County, (6th Judicial Circuit). Robert is currently running for Congress for the 12th Congressional district of Florida.

Denise Mineo was awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship in celebration and thanks for her many years of directing the Rotary Club of Safety Harbor’s Senior Recognition Thanksgiving Dinner. The award was presented by her husband Wayne at the Rotary Club Christmas party hosted by Ted and Sue Williamson in their beautiful home in Huntington.
Denise has worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield for many years and she and Wayne have three children.
